Uranus is the seventh planet from the Sun and the third-largest planet in our solar system. It is unique because it rotates on its side, with an axial tilt of about 98 degrees, making its rotation very unusual. Uranus is classified as an “ice giant,” composed mainly of water, ammonia, and methane ices, with a small rocky core. The planet’s blue-green color comes from methane gas in its atmosphere, which absorbs red light and reflects blue. It has a faint ring system and 27 known moons, the largest of which are Titania and Oberon. Uranus takes about 84 Earth years to complete one orbit around the Sun.
