The Ramakrishna Mission was founded by Swami Vivekananda in 1897 to spread the spiritual ideals and teachings of his guru, Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa. The Mission’s headquarters is located at Belur Math, near Kolkata, on the banks of the Ganga River.
