In the upper atmosphere (stratosphere), oxygen (O₂) molecules absorb ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the Sun and split into individual oxygen atoms. These atoms then combine with other O₂ molecules to form ozone (O₃).

This process forms the ozone layer, which protects life on Earth by absorbing harmful UV rays.

So, oxygen is converted into ozoneoption (B).
