Explanation by: Mr. Dubey

The Troposphere is the first (lowest) layer of the Earth's atmosphere.

  • It extends from the Earth's surface up to about 8 to 15 kilometers (varies with latitude).
  • All weather phenomena like clouds, rain, storms, and winds occur in this layer.
  • It contains about 75% of the atmosphere’s mass and the highest concentration of water vapor.

Other layers (above the Troposphere):

  • Stratosphere – Contains the ozone layer; located above the troposphere.
  • Mesosphere – Middle layer; meteors burn up here.
  • Thermosphere – Very high temperatures; auroras occur here.

So, the Troposphere is the first and lowest layer of the Earth's atmosphere.
