There have been three proclamation's of National Emergency by President in India. In October 1962, at the time of Chinese aggression, it was proclaimed for the first time. Second time, in the wake of war with Pakistan, it was declared in December 1971. In June 1975, during the Prime Ministership of Indira Gandhi, it was proclaimed for the third time for internal disturbance.
