Explanation: Article-171 provides for composition of Legislative Council in states. According to it, 1/3rd members are elected by members of concerned Legislative Assembly, whereas,1/3rd members will be elected by members of local bodies. Among remaining members, 1/6th are nominated by Governor, 1/12th are elected by graduates of state and 1/12th will be elected by teachers within the state.
